It was 8 May 1987. At the Cromwell Hospital in London a transplant patient’s body was chronically rejecting her recently replaced liver. A nationwide search located a suitable donor organ in Hull, and so began a life or death race against time to bring that organ to London.
Two Metropolitan Police Rover SD1's are tasked to undertake the last part of the run after delays in fog and no available helicopters can transport the liver for the final stretch. They have 35 minutes to cover 29 miles, mostly thru heavy London Traffic, on a busy Friday afternoon, to get to the hospital. If time ran out, that are tasked to abort the run. Can these two stalwarts make it in time and save the patient?

Always love watching this, true testament to the skill of the cops driving, and the department’s ability to coordinate making a clear path.
